A-1 Television Service has been servicing TV’s in central Missouri since 1970.  We are a 3 generation family owned and operated business.  A-1 provides both in warranty and out of warranty repair services.  We are manufacturer authorized for most major brands and the preferred service provider for extended warranties purchased through Best Buy,  Wal-Mart, and many more. 

            A-1 Television was established by Carl and Adaline Vannoy in the early days of television repair.  They worked on black and whites, with vacuum tubes, radios, and even small appliances.  Carl was trained in electronics in the military and brought his knowledge home to begin a family business that would provide for his family and the community for years to come.  Throughout his years in the business he expanded to Appliance repair and sold Blaze King and Earth Stove fireplaces.  Over the years, they witnessed many changes to the industry (a theme that would continue to present day) ushering in the color TV!  When Carl retired, he sold A-1 TV to his son Mike Vannoy and A-1 Appliance to his other son Danny.  The fireplace dealership was also sold.

                 Mike Vannoy took the reins of the family business and focused almost entirely on Television Repair.  He continued the effort to keep up on the newest technologies and began securing authorizations from the leading manufactures of the times to perform their warranty work.  During his career, Mike saw one of the biggest changes to the Television Repair industry, the projection TV or Bigscreen!  These TV’s would evolve almost continually and increase the need for experienced, skilled technicians as they became more complicated.

                    In 1996 A-1 Television Service’s original location in downtown Sedalia burnt to the ground in a total loss.  Mike’s resiliency was tested and his resolve proven as he negotiated a deal to buy out a local competitor, Star TV.  Both a new beginning and a continued tradition ensued, as Mike’s son Josh Vannoy entered the family business. 

               Josh worked for his father as he finished his education in electronics.  After college, Josh moved to Denver, CO and worked for large electronics companies in their field service divisions.  During this time, Josh gained valuable knowledge and experience with the latest revolution in the world of TV’s, High Definition and Flat Panel Displays!  After several years, Josh moved back to Missouri to once again join his father in the family business. 

            Since then, A-1 Television Service, inc. has grown to the largest Service Center in Central Missouri.  Our experience is simply unmatched!  Our dedication to quality workmanship, the highest level of customer service, and fair and ethical business practices have paved the way for our successes.

            We belong to the most prestigious trade association in our industry, NESDA (link).  We adhere to their stringent guidelines of continued education and ethical business principles. We have an A+ rating with the BBB (link).  We are the preferred service provider for countless warranty administrators, manufacturers, and insurance companies.  But, most importantly we have our reputation built on over 40 years of service.  Reputation is the only currency in the service industry, and the only way any service business can survive for over 40 years.
